DEVO was honored with the Sustainability Award at the Forbes Generations Gala

At the gala organized by Forbes Hungary for the country’s largest family businesses, the DEVO Group received the Sustainability Award Powered by Haier.

According to the jury’s reasoning, the DEVO Group showed the entire real estate sector how environmental performance can be significantly improved by renewing and consistently developing existing assets.

A striking result of DEVO’s sustainability efforts is the green transformation of Westend Shopping Center, which is 27 years old this year. The building complex’s energy systems have been renewed, while intelligent building management helps reduce energy consumption. Within the framework of a long-term PPA agreement through the Green Cloud partnership, the green electricity procured from the Sihalom solar power plant, together with the electricity generated by the 6,500-square-meter solar park installed on the roof of Westend, covers 80 percent of the energy used. As a result of the developments, carbon dioxide emissions have decreased by 81 percent compared with the 2019 level.

The award was accepted by András Vogel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DEVO Group.

We are proud that DEVO Group has received another prestigious professional award in the field of sustainability, further confirming the significance of the long-term value we create.
